FAQs
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
RPL is a process in which the experience, skills, training and knowledge that you have built up in your career can be converted to nationally recognised qualifications. These qualifications are the same as those awarded through studying.
Getting qualifications through RPL means that you don’t have to sit in a classroom and learn about things you already know. Instead, you can just show evidence that you’ve covered it in your work.
A lot of important learning happens while you’re on the job, not just when you’re sitting in a classroom. This sort of experiential learning is just as valid and deserves to be acknowledged. What better way to do it than by getting a qualification?
What evidence will I need to provide?
You’ll receive a checklist for each qualification, outlining suggested evidence you can provide. The hard work is done for you—each checklist item is already mapped to the relevant units in the qualification. All you need to do is dig into your files and drag and drop the appropriate evidence into your USkills portal.
Possible evidence may include:
Emails
Meeting minutes
Presentations
Reports
Screenshots
How does the No Pass, No Fee Guarantee work?
Our No Pass, No Fee Guarantee means you don’t enrol or pay for your chosen qualifications until our partner RTO confirms you’ve met all the evidence requirements. So, if you’re unable to meet those requirements, you won’t be out of pocket—making the process more enjoyable and risk-free.
Can I claim a qualification on tax?
While we can’t provide official tax advice, many of our clients are able to claim the cost of their qualifications as a self-education expense. Speak with your accountant or the ATO to find out if you’re eligible. We’ve also had customers use their tax refund to invest in their RPL qualification—because education is always a smart investment!
